This year the day was marked in partnership with Lipton and Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa. The event took place at Ai Royal event centre in Ikorodu.
The programme was put together in conjunction with Lipton to empower the women to be able to do something for themselves after the death of their husbands.
We find out that most of these women after the demise of their husband who was the breadwinner, cannot cope with the financial obligations of the home because they do not have anything to do. We help these widows move from the position of not having anything to do to a situation where they too can stand strong and be able to take care of their family,” she said. The essence of the programme is to put smiles on the faces of the widows. Present was Partner organization, RedCare Health Services(HMO) who were available with Medical personnel to run various tests on the widows.There was also a drama presentation by students from Ikorodu.
