Tree Planting with LASPARK

The Lagos State Parks and Garden Agency (LASPARK), in partnership with Hope for Live Initiative (HFLI), held a tree planting mentorship program on Thursday. Held at Dolphin Senior High School, Obalende, Lagos, the event was aimed at creating awareness on the importance of tree planting.

It was attended by renowned environmentalist, Dr. Newton Jibunoh, LASPARK representative Adebimpe Afiluwe, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Hope for Life Initiative, Kendi Aig-Imoru, Vice Principal Academics, Dolphin Senior High School, and Vice Principal Admin, Dolphin Senior High School, Mr. Ekemode Hakeem.

Speaking on the importance of tree planting, Afiluwe said the essence of the mentorship program was to educate the students on the importance and benefits of trees.

“Lagos State government is encouraging students to plant trees by letting them know the importance and benefits of trees. It’s believed that when they are caught at an early stage in life, they would be able to help educate the larger society and their family the importance of tree planting,” Afiluwe said.
