International Widows Day is a United Nations ratified day of action to address the “poverty and injustice faced by millions of widows and their dependents. It was again marked by HFLI in Partnership with United Nations Information . The event celebrated widows highlighting the need to support widows in all areas. The widows were presented with products from Dangote Sugar, Dr. Ndidi Nnoli-Edozien, spoke oh behalf of Dangote. Also at the event was Bank of Industry, the widows were offered opportunities to receive loans form Bank of Industry. RedCare health services HMO, Lagos State Trust Fund, Nigerian Breweries, Honey Suckle Cakes, Nigerian Bottling Company, Studio 24, United Nations Information Centre, Director, Mr Ronald Kayanga emphasized the importance of celebrating widows while Mrs Iyabo Osifeso, President National Council of Women Society, Lagos Chapter reiterated the need for widows‘ rights to independent life, livelihood after loss must be ensured
